Re: Southgate
Still has no idea what he’s starting 11 is after long enough.
Beat Croatia fair and square but Croatia are nowhere the team they was.
Struggled against an enthusiastic Scotland team ???
two hundred grand a week players looked clueless.
To take Fodon off was rediculous.
Leaving Kane on was mind boggling.
Very disappointing yet again.

Anyone. Rubber lipped south London cunt.

You only get the England job if you're a yes man.

Re: Southgate
Sad thing is that is their even an Englishman around who has won anything of note or managed a team at the highest level for any length of time, and when was the last one to actually win anything?

All of England’s top sides, not one has had an English manager for any decent length of time for a good few years, Lampard was given a chance far too early, Harry at Spurs was maybe the last and that’s hardly saying much.

The only English manager I can think of is perhaps Stevie G but doing it in the SPL is hardly on par with Europe’s elite!

We might as well give it to Emma Hayes, see how that pans out.

Re: Southgate
International management is a part time job for an experienced manager towards the end of his career not young club managers like Gerrard. Or incompetents like Lampard.

Southgate went from FA office administrator to England manager without any club management career of note.
Could you see him getting a Premier league job if he got the sack?

Re: Southgate
There isn't anyone is there? The problem with England has always been more about what it means to the players to play for their country. Many of their opponents, like the Scots, are shit, but it means something to the players to play for their country beyond a career move. It hasn't done for most of the English players for a few generations now. No manager can compensate for that. I wonder if the team would be better picked from the championship only. Less quality, but more passion.

Re: Southgate
The trouble with Southgate is that he's only managed 'borough and the U21'S. That's it. He's achieved the square root of fuck all. He is the ulimate FA yes-man lickspittle and has been promoted way beyond hi capabilities chiefly because we have so few English managers operating in the PL.

Of the current English managers in the top flight the best is probably Graham Potter. That's how desperate we are now.

Emma Hayes, a manager who slated her team for only winning 5-0?

Too radical a break from Southgate...

Don't worry about the football, that's not what he's employed for, it's more important that he says the right thing. Sport is irrelevant, let's concentrate on Twitter.

Southgate is the archetypal FA appointment

Yes man, squeaky clean, and nowadays fully up to speed with important social issues, 100% behind kneeling before matches.

Re: Southgate
Pub Bigot, why do you keep saying he's south London? Born in Watford, grew up in West Sussex, played more times for Boro and Villa than he did for Palace.

You're right about the rest though.
